Mom's 1950's place setting...and true portion control

Our cat Stella loves to pose. She saw the camera and hopped up there.
Look at a 1950's dinner plate compared to a 2008!

I remember this pattern very well, although I can't remember who had it. My parents had a lot of friends and back then, all dinner invitations included the kids. I even recall that my mother wore high heels, just to go over to someone's house but had to tip toe around so she wouldn't leave heel prints in the new linoleum.

Weren't times different? My mother's boss used to have us over for dinner. She still addressed him as "Mr. Mallory".

Thanks for the flash back!

In the 60s, my mom would get her dish sets as premiums at the grocery store...one...plate...at...at...time - still seemed like a pretty cool idea.

My mom wore heels too..and those hose with the line up the back, and a dress...of course.

I've gotten my plates at the store too..in the past. I might again some day!
