Very frightening; people don't take the power of water very seriously, and the die because of that.

Love the image of your mom and her glasses!Tarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03052375488090209961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31286960.post-85586895007688469402013-07-13T19:58:48.666-07:002013-07-13T19:58:48.666-07:00Your mom is a rock star in car-eye glasses.

I recall admonishing a child, and I got jumped on by that child's parent. One wonders why so many youth are troublesome. I'm glad your mom was praised for saving the child's life and not jumped on for punishing the girl for her ungrateful comment.

By the way, I won't swim in the river either.Bonnie K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02780504029596670240noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31286960.post-82951931807440590022013-07-10T07:39:34.442-07:002013-07-10T07:39:34.442-07:00Great story - I do remember you all being excellen...Great story - I do remember you all being excellent swimmers....I also remember how all the boys were gawking at you that first Worland summer at the pool :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09818061367600921818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31286960.post-8468466019919860812013-07-09T23:45:07.542-07:002013-07-09T23:45:07.542-07:00Anon up there is Linda Nygaard, by the way! It's a dichotomy, though, because I LOVE being ON the water in boats or even water skis (as a teenager), but never IN the water. I know the Musselshell River and I know Roundup Montana.....my old stomping grounds. Love this essay, Melody. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
